A former competitive athlete, Browning suffered an extensive list of injuries over the years ranging from severed tendons and broken bones to temporary paralysis on the upper left side of his body.

“I tried everything accessible to you in the United States,” Browning said, noting that nothing worked. “I heard about cryotherapy a few years ago and tried it out, and the first time I did, I had total relief. It was life changing… I don’t have pain anymore. To this day, I have zero pain, and I’ve never been able to say that.”

At the time, Browning owned a medical consultant firm that he said he wasn’t passionate about, and so in Sept. 2016, he decided to take his career in a new direction and open his own cryotherapy business with his brother, Chris Browning.

“I wanted to do something that I was passionate about, not just about making money,” he said. “I walked away from the business that I had and I opened this place up, and I never looked back.”

Now Browning gets to share the life changing benefits of cryotherapy with others, and said he’s never felt better both physically and mentally.

“It’s very rewarding,” he said. “I see people come in every day in pain and walk out feeling good.”

Not only is Mend Cryotherapy in Santa Clarita a family-owned business, but the Browning brothers strive to create a family atmosphere for their customers as well.

“Everybody feels like they’re family here,” Browning said. “It’s amazing.”

After a consultation with a staff member, new clients can register with the Mend Cryotherapy team and are walked through the entire process by a cryo-technician who stays with them the whole time.

“The people that we have that work here are all very personable,” Browning said. “They’re knowledgeable, they’re excellent with the customers.”

On top of the family-like atmosphere, top notch customer service and numerous health benefits of cryotherapy — ranging from reducing inflammation to improving the look of skin — the rush of endorphins alone during treatment keep people coming back for more.

“(A lot of our members) don’t really even need it — they come in because they feel like they’re part of the family,” Browning said. “And it feels really good. You have a massive endorphin rush from it. A lot of people come in just for that, just because it makes you feel so good.”
