Jessica Hartley, founder of the Legendary Love Program and host of the brand new show “Thriving Relationships” on KHTS Radio, noted that it’s very common for a painful childhood to “show up” later in relationships and cause problems.

“The other person in our relationship ends up being the other person that gets the brunt of whatever some of our wounds are from childhood,” Hartley explained. “And it goes both ways… Then they have their own wounds and their own stuff that they’re coming in with.”

Because most adults don’t know how to heal these wounds and take responsibility in their relationship, many couples often face the challenge of triggering their significant other’s childhood pain and “bouncing” their wounds off each other, according to Hartley.

While there are many different avenues for healing and personal growth, Hartley believes in addressing the root of the problem rather than masking it with a temporary fix, which the Legendary Love Program aims to do through “deep healing” sessions.

“They’re really unique and amazing because they’re not just about venting, which is sort of more the traditional approach (with) any talk therapy that’s out there right now,” Hartley said. “They move beyond that, and they get right to the root. We go in and we change what was going on there, and then we replace it with new foundations that actually serve you.”

While Hartley acknowledged the process can be hard, her clients typically come out of it feeling as if a weight has been taken off their shoulders, finally free to use their energy in uplifting ways because they have shifted what’s going on inside them.

“I’ve been where you are, and I know how to lift you into a different path of love,” Hartley said, speaking to those who may be struggling in their relationships for a variety of different reasons. “Let’s face it — I’m a romantic. And my biggest intention is to be a community resource on how to create thriving, deep, lasting love.”
