VALENCIA, CA (September 9, 2011)–A fun-filled evening of fine wine and delectable appetizers is just one of several events planned this October to help the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation and Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center raise awareness of the importance of mammograms for early breast cancer detection.

The event, held on October 6 at the Salt Creek Grille from 6 to 8 p.m., will also help to raise funds to purchase technology designed to improve outcomes for women undergoing breast reconstructive surgery as a result of breast cancer. The Wi-Fi enabled ViOptix T.Ox™ Tissue Oximeter measures the oxygen flow in transplanted tissue and transmits the data to any internet accessible device including PDAs, smart phones and personal computers to help clinicians quickly identify potential tissue health risks and initiate appropriate intervention.
