Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital invites the community to give the gift of life by donating blood during its winter blood drive on Thursday, January 20, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the HMNMH/COC Clinical Education Center on the Henry Mayo Hospital campus.

Every day, thousands of people rely on blood donors to help them maintain optimum health. Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital partners with the American Red Cross to host six blood drives each year on the hospital campus. Blood collected at Henry Mayo is processed by the American Cross and dedicated to the hospital. That means that the blood is returned to the hospital for patient use.

To make an appointment, please call (661) 253-8888 or register online at redcrossblood.org and enter in sponsor code henrymayo. For more information or to host a blood drive at your organization, contact Laura Young, Henry Mayo’s public relations manager, (661) 253-8089.

February 4 – Free Health Screenings

Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s mission of providing first class health care for the community goes beyond the hospital walls with quarterly “Care for Your Heart” Health Fairs. The next free community health fair is scheduled on Friday, February 4, from 7:30-10:30 a.m., at the Santa Clarita Community Center in Newhall.

During the health fair, the community is invited to participate in free health screenings and receive valuable healthcare tips and information to promote heart health. Upon arrival, attendees receive a heart health passport and summary to record their screening results. When complete, they receive a health summary of their results; Henry Mayo staff will be on hand to answer health questions.

The Santa Clarita Community Center is located on 22421 Market Street in Newhall. The health fair is open to the community; admission and health screenings are free. Materials in Spanish and translators are available. For more information, call (661) 253-8408.
