Heaviest Rainstorm In Years Predicted To Start Monday

news_stormwatchWeek long wet streak will pummel Santa Clarita and Los Angeles area.

If you’re in a picnicking mood, you had better get to the park this weekend because come Sunday night the weather will change drastically.

Heavy rain is predicted to hit the southwest at the beginning of the week, and according to the National Weather Service, the rain totals could be the highest in several years.

Several pacific storms will batter the LA area including Santa Clarita starting Monday, and the rain is expected to last until at least Saturday.

Flooding is likely, especially in the recently burned areas near Acton, La Canada and Glendale.

Adding to the wet weather will be a series of strong winds, which should make trips outdoors even more miserable. Temperatures are expected to hover around the mid-50s during the daylight hours and low 40s overnight.

Motorists should plan on leaving earlier than normal during the week, as rainy weather will slow traffic and cause a greater number of accidents. Tune into KHTS AM-1220 for up-to-the-minute traffic reports during the storm.
