Several community members and organizations are helping the Follett family, who lost their Newhall home and nearly all their possessions in a fire over Thanksgiving weekend.
Husband Tony, wife Marcela, 8-year-old daughter Samantha and 5-year-old son Luke are currently staying with a family member in Saugus, but they need help for the long-term.

At the time of the fire, the Folletts had just made the last payment on their home, but they were without insurance.
Times were already tough for the family given the current economy. Tony, a roofer, has had trouble finding work.
Losing your home to foreclosure is one thing, but when it happens at the hands of arson, as law enforcement expects, the tragedy produces a type of helpless pain.
But the Follett family is anything but helpless. Several organizations are already contributing to their recovery, and now you can help directly.
A bank fund for the family has been created, and donations can be made at any Chase bank. Use the information below to make your deposits.

The Santa Clarita Valley Disaster Coalition, the Assistance League, the local chapter of the Red Cross, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and firefighters from Fire Station 124 in Stevenson Ranch are each helping in their own way.
St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Newhall will host a bake sale this Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. to benefit the Folletts.
Their eldest daughter, Amber, who lives in Lake View Terrace, also runs a Facebook page that posts updates on how to help her family.
