Proceeds from fundraising dinner will send medical missions to Kenya.
[view:node_ad=5]Helping Hands International will be presenting An Evening in the Night Sky; "The Evolution of a Beautiful People of Colors.”–a fundraiser for medical missions to Kenya.The event will be held at the Odyssey Restaurant in Granada Hills, CA on December 5, 2008.
Helping Hands International Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to the service of poverty around the world, with the current focus in Africa.
Special guests attending the event will be the First Lady of Kenya, Mrs. Ida Odinga, The Consulate General of Africa, Mayor Bob Kellar of Santa Clarita, as well as representatives of The City Of Refuge, First AME & West Angeles Churches. Mayor Villaraigosa and the First Lady of California, Maria Shriver, have been invited.
While enjoying a five course dinner, the guests will be tantalized and entertained by Wawi , The Extraordinaire, Lady Chocolate, The Drum Beats and a jazz medley performed by Gregory Michaels. The guests are requested to donate $100.00 to support the cause. The sponsoring hospital is Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Among the platinum sponsors are St. Jude, The City of Hope, Institute for Leadership Development and Education(ILDE), South African Airlines, Atlantic Shipping, and Galpin Ford.
Providence Holy Cross Medical Center has committed to the cause of improving medical services in Kenya, and is currently holding discussions regarding building a sister medical center in Niarobi to house the trauma center Helping Hands plans to build.
