Heated debate continues
Tonight, the Santa Clarita City Council returns from their summer break. The transition back into regular meetings, though, will not be easy.
The Henry Mayo Campus expansion plan is back for another round of debate. For two years Henry Mayo and their partner G&L Realty has battled to get a Master Plan through governmental approval. In the process, the Hospital has conceded a medical office/administration building, a parking structure and a portion of the proposed hospital facility. They have also lowered the time frame for their master plan, which originally stood at 25 years.
The opposition has been fierce, and has constantly pushed for more cuts to the campus size and a promise of building hospital facilities.
Tonight will be the night where City staff returns with a whole slew of answers to questions raised at the previous three Council meetings regarding the project.
If past experiences are any indicator, tonight’s meeting should bring many members of the public to the audience, to voice their opinions in favor or in opposition.
The meeting may well go into the early morning hours, but KHTS will have a detailed account posted on hometownstation.com shortly after the meeting and will broadcast updates throughout the Hometown Morning Show with John Summers beginning at 5:15am.
