Whether it’s an automobile accident injury or someone with a life-threatening illness, every time an ambulance rushes to the hospital with the siren alerting its approach, there’s a possibility that the individual on board needs blood.
Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital invites the community to give the gift of life by donating blood during its blood drive on Thursday, August 11, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Henry Mayo/COC Clinical Education Center on the Hospital’s campus.

Imagine knowing that you may have made a difference between life and death for someone. One blood donation can save the lives of up to three people, and your donation may actually save the life of a friend, neighbor or family member.
Giving blood is simple, painless, and it takes less than one hour. Any healthy person age 17 or older and weighing at least 110 pounds, and who has not donated blood in the last 8 weeks, may be able to donate blood.
Henry Mayo Hospital partners with the American Red Cross to host six blood drives each year on the hospital campus. Blood collected at Henry Mayo is processed by the American Red Cross and dedicated to the hospital to benefit patients in our community.
