High wind and red flag fire danger warnings are in effect until 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, respectively, for the Santa Clarita Valley and other areas of Southern California.
Northeast winds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 will continue through Sunday morning before diminishing late Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Such wind velocity could knock down trees and power lines and send outdoor debris flying. High-profile trucks and other vehicles are especially vulnerable to high wind.

The wind is combining with already dry conditions and low humidity ranging from 10 to 15 percent to create a heightened risk of forest fire.
If conditions persist, the weather service may extend the warnings.
