Historical Society Holds Garage Sale

Event will Raise Funds For Hart Park’s Pardee House.

[view:node_ad=5] The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society will be having an “Excess Freight and Baggage Sale” Saturday, September 20th at the Saugus Train Depot at Heritage Junction in Hart Park.

Cathy Martin, SCV Historical Society Board member will be hosting the sale in honor of a tradition set by a former Society president.

“Those of you that have been around long enough will remember that Betty Evans, one of the Society's past presidents, used to have these fancy garage sales named  'Excess Freight and Baggage'. She thought it was a cute name given the fact it was being held in the freight room of the depot. I will be following in her tradition and will be having a good old-fashioned garage sale,” said Martin.

For those needing to de-clutter, the Excess Freight and Baggage sale provides a perfect opportunity to sell unused and unwanted items. For those searching for that unique treasure, the sale is sure to deliver.

Funds raised will go to the completion of the Pardee House at Heritage Junction.

This year’s Excess Freight and Baggage sale will begin at 8:00 am at Hart Park, located off of Newhall Avenue.

For more information about drop off times, contact Cathy Martin at 661-259-0059, or Pat Saletore at 661-254-1275.
