Every year the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center opens its doors to those brave enough to take a chilly ride down the water slide followed by a short swim in icy water then enjoy free hot chocolate and coffee.
This family friendly event takes place at 9 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 1 and all you have to do is register for the event and show up with a swimsuit.

The names of those who jump into the water will be added to the official Santa Clarita Polar Bear Club members list displayed inside the trophy case in the halls of the Aquatic Center. They will also receive a special commemorative Polar Bear Club gift.
