“The deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station work with the community to collect and distribute new and unwrapped new toys,” said Deputy Fanny Lapkin, community relations deputy for the Sheriff’s Station, “and we give them as gifts to the less fortunate children in our community through the toy drive.”

The Sheriff’s Station and KHTS AM-1220 organize a kickoff event every year with community partners such as AutoNation Chevrolet, which hosted this year’s event Wed.
One of the aspects making the event so popular every year is the toys donated from Santa Clarita Valley residents stay in the Santa Clarita Valley, officials said.
“All of the toys stay here in the community, and we work hand in hand with partnerships and different businesses,” Lapkin said, “and they host toy drive boxes at their locations.”
