Employees surpass four week goal.
Holding raffles, a pancake breakfast, a hot dog lunch and a variety of other events, employees at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center surpassed a half million-dollar goal for construction of the hospital’s expansion.
The Providence Holy Cross Foundation’s four-week employee campaign ended today and netted a total of $614,059 in personal donations and proceeds from fund-raisers.
Seventy-seven employees formed teams that competed with fund-raisers that also included a carwash, a carne asada barbecue lunch and raffles for prime parking spots. And 591 employees offered personal donations.
The money will help build and equip the $181 million Patient Care Wing under construction at the hospital, which serves the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.
Frequently at capacity, Providence Holy Cross is adding 136 new patient beds in a four-story expansion that will include the area’s first neonatal intensive-care unit and a new
Women’s Pavilion with state-of-the-art labor and delivery suites.
The expansion, funded entirely by Providence Health & Services and private donations, is due to open in late 2010.
