Santa Clarita Valley — “Thanks to the hard work of the Santa Clarita Community Development Corporation and the more than 50 volunteers who worked tirelessly to prepare the facility, the Santa Clarita Valley Emergency Winter Shelter will open its doors at 6 p.m. Friday,” said Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich. “In addition to shelter in the cold winter months, Lutheran Social Services will provide case management, referrals for job training and placement and permanent housing opportunities.”
