Minutemen to host patriotic rally, raise awareness of Border Agents plight.

An “Honor America/Secure Our Border” rally will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 28 at the Santa Clarita Civic Center amphitheater, sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley and Antelope Valley Independent Minutemen.

“Anyone who loves this country is welcome,” said event organizer Roger Gitlin. “Bring flags and placards and your patriotic spirit.”

The event will feature speakers Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, John and Barbara March, parents of slain Deputy Dave March, Lupe Moreno of  Latino Americans for Immigration Reform, Chelene Nightingale of Save Our State and Sam Szislman of No More Invasion.

The event is a fundraiser for imprisoned Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. The amphitheater is located in the county office complex at the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Valencia Boulevard. For more information, e-mail Gitlin at ragitlin@aol.com
