Below you will find how to help make a difference in the lives of Santa Clarita residents impacted by the recent wildfires either by volunteering or by donations.

The website is run by the Volunteer Resource Center of Santa Clarita Valley. KHTS has received many calls from residents asking how they can help. In an effort to help direct residents to the proper place, we recommends the Volunteer Resource Center. 

 

The Volunteer Resource Center of SCV is dedicated to building bridges between local community service organizations, businesses and residents so that they can work together to make the Santa Clarita Valley a better place to live, work and thrive.  The Resource Center provides training and resources to build the capacity of nonprofit, community service organizations to better serve the needs of our community.  We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and nonprofit management within our own organization as a model for our nonprofit clients.  Through our program and outreach, we provide the links for businesses and residents to be part of "helping the community help itself.

Heads Up horse ranch is also looking for volunteers and donations.

 

They are looking for volunteers to help out with the horses on saturday mornings mornings and cleaning out the stalls. the staff is also looking for horse brushes and curry combs or any other donations are greatly appretiated.

 Information on how to donate to local fire relief programs…

 

The Santa Clarita Valley Disaster Coalition (SCVDC) is an all-volunteer coalition of local organizations, businesses and individuals whose mission is to work together to provide supplemental humanitarian relief assistance during crisis situations in our community, our state, our country.  The Coalition was formed in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and continues to assist whenever assistance is needed. At this time, 20 homes have burnt down in the Santa Clarita Valley.  To directly assist residents affected by the fires, the SCV Disaster Coalition is only accepting cash or check, as well as gift cards.  No other donations will be accepted.  

 

"The Santa Clarita Valley Disaster Coalition is an important local agency that gives back to its community.  Each donation that is given will go directly to helping local families recover from this disaster," said Mayor Pro-tem Bob Kellar.
