H&R Block, as part of its ongoing commitment to local communities, is holding a food drive at all of their 21 locations in Santa Clarita through Apr. 15 to benefit Help the Children of Santa Clarita.
“At H&R Block, we put a premium on being a good corporate citizen. We’re proud of the rich philanthropic tradition established by our founders, Henry and Richard Bloch, and work to honor their legacies through our ongoing philanthropic endeavors,” says Julie Garcia, district manager for H&R Block.

H&R Block clients, neighbors and the wider community are invited to bring non-perishable food items to any of the 21 H&R Block offices (including inside Wal-Mart) in the Santa Clarita Valley.
In addition, each time an H&R Block client makes a monetary donation to Help the Children, H&R Block will make a $20 donation.
“Help the Children distributes food to churches, senior citizen facilities, battered women shelters, recovery programs, and other service providers enrolled as recipients of our food program in the Santa Clarita Valley. These groups, in turn, hand out donated food to those in need,” says Roger Presgrove, president of Help the Children.
“An uncertain economy has resulted in an increased demand for food essentials and we are trying to keep up. We are extremely pleased and grateful to have H&R Block at our side to aid our community,” Presgrove added.
