I-5 Freeway Remains Open; Another Storm Ahead

UPDATED: FRIDAY 11:00PM

California Highway Patrol reopened the I-5 Freeway through the Grapevine Friday morning, in both northbound and southbound directions. No chains are currently required for vehicles to drive through the area.

A slight reprieve from the rain Friday afternoon and evening allowed us a moment to dry out- but another storm is expected to move through our valley Saturday night, dumping more rain all the way into Sunday evening.

An update for those who were considering playing in the snow this weekend: the Fort Tejon CHP advises KHTS that the Frazier Park / Mt. Pinos snow play recreation area will remain closed for the entire weekend.

KHTS will keep you updated on local traffic with new information as we receive it- with information on AM-1220 and here at hometownstation.com!
