Woman had almost 25 different identity "profiles" in her possession.
A Canyon Country woman holding the profiles of at least 20 other women was arrested for identity theft July 25.
Shatoya Gordon, 25, was taken into custody after detectives served a search warrant on the Scott Lane residence she had rented in one of her victims’ names.
Lt. Mark Hershey said that Gordon was in possession of 20-25 different “profiles” or items of identification that could be used to obtain property fraudulently.
“She had some names, birthdates, Social Security numbers, pieces of mail, various versions of people’s identity,” Hershey said.
Hershey said a woman in Torrance called the sheriff’s department when she got a call from a rental company about the Canyon Country property, prompting the search warrant.
Gordon is being held at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood in lieu of $550,000 bail for three counts; she is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 14 on one count of identity theft and will be back in court Sept. 2 for a pretrial conference on two counts of petty theft with priors.
