A thief gets 16 months stolen from him by a judge.A Los Angeles man pleaded guilty to forgery and identity theft charges yesterday in a San Fernando court room.
Dennis Franklin was arrested in early September outside a Valencia bank after a teller became suspicious and called the authorities. At the time of the arrest Sheriff’s found a fake Nevada driver's license, a credit card, and a Social Security card belonging to one of his previous victims.
Franklin was sentenced to 16 months in state prison and ordered to pay back more than $60,000.
He has reportedly been involved in the forgery and identity theft of eight individuals, and was able to withdraw more than $100,000 from his victims accounts in cities from Sacramento to San Diego.
According to Sheriff’s, Franklin faces similar charges in Walnut Springs, California and could face more prison time.
He has been ordered to surrender the court in late January to begin his sentence.
