Imaginative production, "Clarissa's Closet," continues at Canyon Theatre GuildIngrid Boydston, Director of “Clarissa’s Closet”, said the show is a fun look into the mind of the young protagonist, as she struggles to focus on cleaning her room.

“Clarissa is a typical messy kid, and she has to clean her room before her Grandma arrives. Everytime she picks up something she gets an idea, and that idea comes to life and out of the closet. “

At one point in the performance, the unexpected death of the fish of Clarissa’s sister Pammy leads Clarissa to console her with the help of a chorus of fish angels that emerge from the closet to explain the wonders of fish heaven.

The two main characters in the play, Clarissa and Pammy, are played by Isabella Eng and Olivia Afetian, respectively, alongside a host of other supporting actors, whom are mostly in their teens, Boydston said.

“The target audience is school-age children, but I have been told by adults that it’s got something for everyone,“ Boydston said.
