Inmate Dies At Pitchess Detention Center In Castaic

An inmate died for unknown reasons at the Pitchess Detention Center North Facility in Castaic Wednesday evening, authorities said.

The inmate, described only as a male adult, was pronounced dead at the facility, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials.

Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the facility, which is located on the 29300 block of the Old Road in Castaic, just before 5 p.m. Wednesday to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information was being released Wednesday evening.

  1. This is now the their death in a couple of months. It appears someone should look into what’s going on up there. I know they are criminals but they deserve to be watched out for just like anyone else.
