About a year ago, O’Connor played at Hope Vineyard Church in Canyon Country and Loden knew she had to bring her back to the Santa Clarita Valley a second time.
“I felt very strongly that other people should hear her,” she said.
Loden is hosting a concert at her home, 26860 Canyon End Road, on Saturday, June 29 at 6:15 p.m.
O’Connor’s music is influenced heavily by her Jewish heritage and her Christian faith. She and her husband Michael founded the nonprofit Improbable People, dedicated to showing the love of God to people through song.
Loden said that she felt a special connection to O’Connor, because her husband is also Jewish and a Christian.
O’Connor has brought her music to people all over the world, in Israel, Ireland, the Philippines, Poland and Germany, including venues as varied as palaces and former concentration camps.
But this weekend, she will be local.
“While she sings it’s a little bit unique in the way that she shares stories with it,” Loden said. “And we just thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to everybody to get together, be out in our beautiful weather and just be inspired a bit on a Saturday afternoon.”
The Canyon Country performance is free and open to the public, but guests are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. Refreshments will be provided.
To RSVP, contact Loden at PSM9111@hotmail.com.
