A call went out at 11:32 a.m. for a child experiencing cardiac arrest, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman.

Captain Jeff Ford with Fire Station No. 111 said that the child was about 6 years old.

A helicopter was initially called, but the child was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

Several intersections, including Bouquet Canyon Road and McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard and McBean, were blocked during the transport.

The child arrived at the hospital, but there are no details on the child’s condition.
