Local women who are seeking a new career will get hands-on experience at scripting a successful job interview at the next LifeForward workshop offered by Zonta Club of the SCV on Saturday, May 14. The workshops are offered free to local women, and free childcare is available.
The workshops are held at Desert Streams Church, 26873 Ruether Ave., Canyon Country, and run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Free childcare for pre-registered participants will be provided by Single Mothers Outreach, which is located in the same complex.

Presenter for the May workshop will be Michele Lobl, an author and employment and training consultant. She will cover such topics as the steps job seekers need to take to prepare for an interview, appropriate answers to common interview questions, and questions that job seekers should ask the interviewer. Participants are encouraged to bring a résumé to practice their interviewing skills with help from a panel of Human Relations professionals.
The final workshop in the career development series will include Workplace Success on June 25. The four-part series, which started with the March workshop, is structured to help women select a rewarding career, get the job and be successful in the workplace. Other workshops in the LifeForward series deal with financial acumen and life skills.
More information about Zonta’s LifeForward workshops is available by e-mail to lifeforward@scvzonta.org. Registration for the workshop and childcare, if needed, is handled online at www.singlemothersoutreach.org/lifeforward.
Zonta’s workshops are designed to help women believe in their unlimited power and potential, build the skills necessary to succeed, and be the powerful women they are meant to be.
