It Happened, Might As Well Get Something For It

DateIt’s happened to the best of us, we listen to our friends when they say, “I have the perfect guy for you.”

They tell you how they met in yoga, he works in a national IT firm, he’s a family man, and your clock is ticking.

Reluctantly you agree to the blind date, but only if you can meet him at the restaurant.

Date night rolls around; your girlfriend is on speed-dial just in case you need an excuse to have an emergency come up. You’re  prepared for the worst but that doesn’t even come close.

Your friend’s description of family man really means that he still lives with his mother, at 35.  You know this because she just dropped him off out front, licked her hand and matted down his hair, before kissing him good bye.

Before you can call Gloria, your back-up, he is at the table and you quickly find out by his W.O.W shirt, that the national IT firm that he works for really means that he is a Grand Marshall in the World of Warcraft.

By now you’re stuck as he drones on about how mother, whom he refers to as his roommate, made ravioli on Wednesday when he clearly asked for spaghetti, and how his internet went down just as he cast the “Curse of Tongues.”

You have found yourself in the midst of a date worthy of the classification of “Worst Date Ever,” and KHTS wants to know all about it.

Spare no detail, because KHTS and Jewelry World have teamed up for the Worst Date Ever contest, and are encouraging everyone to send in their stories. Entries can be submitted online at hometownstation.com now through February 11 at 4:00 p.m.

Two winning stories will be picked and announced on Brandon Gibson’s morning show on February 12 at 9:30 a.m. The grand prize packages are themed; one for a man and one for a woman.
