Traffic snarled on northbound I-5 due to two accidents.
UPDATED 3 p.m.

Two accidents on the northbound Golden State Freeway near Calgrove Thursday resulted in lane closures and a backup. A tanker-trailer trying to avoid a spun-out vehicle jackknifed, spilling approximately 25 gallons of diesel fuel and two people were taken to the hospital.

Fish and Game and Caltrans officials were able to contain the spill.
