Jeffrey P. Winter Named Chief Administrative Officer For Providence Health & Services

khts_healthIn November, veteran hospital administrator Jeffrey P. Winter took the role as regional chief administrative officer for Providence Health & Services, California.

Winter, with nearly three decades of experience in healthcare leadership, has administrative oversight of state-monitored construction projects including the completion of the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center set to open in February at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank and the 142-bed expansion of Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.

“Jeff has a stellar track record for managing multiple facilities, a keen understanding of market-based strategic leadership and great instincts for initiating improvements,” said Arnold R. Schaffer, vice president and chief executive of Providence California.

Regional directors overseeing project management, compliance with healthcare regulations, information systems and the organization’s fund-raising foundations will report to Winter, as will administrators of the Providence Medical Institute physicians group based in the South Bay and Providence High School in Burbank.

“Providence is the gold standard in Southern California for quality, faith-based health care,” Winter said. “I’m excited to be a part this growing organization with its vibrant culture and dedication to excellence.”

Winter has worked for Catholic Healthcare West, Hospital Corporation of America, American Healthcare Management, Inc., Republic Health Corporation and Children’s Hospital San Francisco. He has expertise in governance systems, physician relations and employee organizational development.

He received his undergraduate degree in psychology/health education from California State University, San Francisco, graduating cum laude. He earned his master’s in healthcare administration from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, again graduating cum laude.

Winter replaces Matt Gerlach, who resigned earlier this year.
