KHTS Adopt A Pet: Berlin, Tails And Scales Animal Rescue (VIDEO)

All 5-year-old Berlin wants in life is affection from his humans, and the goofy doberman is convinced that there’s no such thing as “too big” when it comes to being a lap dog.

“Berlin is just a total goofball,” said Haley Walsh, founder and CEO of Tails and Scales Animal Rescue. “He wants to be loved, he wants to cuddle, he thinks he’s a giant lap dog.”KHTS Adopt a Pet - Berlin

The rescue took in Berlin — with his quirky folded ears and all — after he was briefly adopted from the Castaic Animal Shelter, and the situation just didn’t work out for him.

An incredibly intelligent dog, Berlin is an expert at his food puzzle and is doing well with his training at Tails and Scales Animal Rescue.

“He would love to learn new things with his new family,” Walsh said, noting that Berlin loves other dogs and kids, and likes trying to play with the cats in his foster home — though they seem to want nothing to do with him.

“He thinks they will play with him,” Walsh said. “He’s just a big goofball.”

Walsh continued, “Berlin would do fantastic in any home environment, specifically with people that could spend a lot of time with him. He loves to be loved on. He loves to push his face into your lap and just get pets all day.”

About the KHTS Adopt a Pet Series

Every Wednesday, the KHTS Adopt a Pet series features an adoptable animal from the Santa Clarita Valley in need of a home. The KHTS Features team travels to different rescues and shelters in Santa Clarita to meet the pets and tell their stories in hopes of helping them get adopted. First launched in August 2016, the series has partnered with seven local rescues, as well as the Castaic Animal Shelter, to showcase nearly 100 dogs, cats and bunnies, and has seen 76 — and counting — adoptions so far. The series was created by Melissa Lampert-Abramovitch, who has more than 10 years of experience in the animal rescue world and co-founded Madeline’s Angels Pet Sanctuary in Santa Clarita in 2016.
