“She’s been here her whole life,” said Nikkole McNulty, kennel attendant. “Brie is super energetic and playful. She loves attention, she is an attention hog.”

Brie loves other dogs, cats and people, and became somewhat depressed when her littermates were all adopted and she was left on her own.

“She was very lonely,” McNulty said. “But we placed her with another dog, and now she’s really showing her personality more.”

Now full of “smiles” and always ready to chase after a ball or flop over for a tummy rub, Brie is a happy, mellow and still growing puppy who is expected to become a medium-sized dog as an adult.

“She still has a bit of growing left to do,” McNulty said. “Brie will reach around 20-25 pounds when she’s full grown.”

McNulty continued, “Brie would do great in a home with who will provide her the love and care that she needs, and she would be great with anyone.”

About the KHTS Adopt a Pet Series

Every Wednesday, the KHTS Adopt a Pet series features an adoptable animal from the Santa Clarita Valley in need of a home. The KHTS Features team travels to different rescues and shelters in Santa Clarita to meet the pets and tell their stories in hopes of helping them get adopted. First launched in August 2016, the series has partnered with seven local rescues, as well as the Castaic Animal Shelter, to showcase nearly 100 dogs, cats and bunnies, and has seen 76 — and counting — adoptions so far. The series was created by Melissa Lampert-Abramovitch, who has more than 10 years of experience in the animal rescue world and co-founded Madeline’s Angels Pet Sanctuary in Santa Clarita in 2016.
