Called “Senior Moment,” the one-hour program will offer helpful tips and resources on a variety of senior-related topics designed for both the elderly and their families.

“We want it to be topical to needs that are senior-related needs, but more importantly is adult children, because adult children become de facto caregivers,” said Joe Shenberger, SRA president.Senior Resource Alliance SCV To Launch New Show On KHTS AM-1220

“We want to expose to them different issues so they realize them as they come up,” he continued, “and what resources are available to them so that they know where to look to find out answers to their questions.”

The SRA is an educational outreach group that has previously conducted outreach efforts at Santa Clarita businesses and events, and Shenberger said he hopes the show will help them reach even more people in need of valuable senior-related resources.

“We believe we have the opportunity to reach a much broader audience,” he said. “The venue is there; people can come to us as opposed to us coming up to them, which is a bit more of a challenge.”

Topics SRA professionals specialize in include aging issues, caregiver support, financial needs, geriatric care, memory care, retirement, senior care, senior health, senior housing and other senior services.

SRA professionals offer personal consultations that pair seniors and their families with individualized recommendations based on their specific needs.

“We’re there to impart information; we’re not there to sell anything,” Shenberger added.

A free senior resources directory is also available on the organization’s website to help Santa Clarita residents locate important information on services available in the SCV and surrounding areas.

“Senior Moment” is set to air from 10 to 11 a.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month, with the official launch slated for May 14.
