While the national media is focused on the Presidential primaries, Santa Clarita residents have a much more important decision to make on Tuesday, April 10th as we vote for two of our five City Council members.
A strong City Council is a key component to maintaining Santa Clarita as a stellar community. Your vote has an impact. We’ve witnessed critical outcomes of previous City Council elections determined by a few dozen votes. This year, KHTS is endorsing Bob Kellar and Laurie Ender.
We’ve been a Bob Kellar fan for many years, going back to the days before he was a City councilmember, when he skillfully led the merger of the Canyon Country Chamber of Commerce with the Santa Clarita Chamber. As a City Councilman, Bob has fought the tough battles, made his own decisions, even when it hasn’t always been in his best political interest to do so, and has been a key independent voice on the current Council. Bob has been a strong supporter of small, local businesses.

We were thrilled when Bob decided to seek another term. Keeping Bob on the Council and maintaining a balance is critical for the continued successful management of our City.
Laurie Ender has proved she’s passionate and tireless about her position as City Councilwoman and Mayor. Laurie brings a vital energy and balance to our City Council. Laurie has our valley’s best interests at heart and she has always been open to listening to other ideas. As Mayor, she has a broad vision for our valley, with an emphasis on our youth. She’s a powerful voice for our schools and she understands the economic challenges we currently face. We believe she deserves our endorsement for re-election.
However you feel about the candidates, KHTS radio urges you to make your voice count. Please vote on April 10th. For election results on April 10th, be sure to tune into KHTS AM-1220 and visit www.hometownstation.com.
