KHTS Grand Prix Called Due To Weather, Overbooking

It’s been called the race of the century, well at least the
event of the night and only if you were there.

The first ever KHTS Grand Prix was held this past Sunday at Mountasia Family Fun Center.

Fifteen racers squared off and put their adolescent skills
to the test, muscling their 9hp metal sleds around the quarter mile track.

“It’s a tough race, not only do you have to battle your
opponent but you have to watch out for the lap traffic,” said race coordinator
Jeremiah McDaniel.  “The mood around here
is pretty tense, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna need an umbrella to hide from
all the smack being talked.”

The racers fought hard for position in the single round
elimination tournament. When the dust settled and the rubber cooled it was Jeri
“Take No Prisoners” Seratti-Goldman to face off against Janice “Lead Foot” Murray in the championship
round.

The race had no shortage of sore losers.

“I was robbed. My husband paid off another driver to take me
out during my race,” said Carol Rock, News Director for KHTS.

“It’s too bad the younger kids couldn’t keep up with us,”
said “Take No Prisoners” Seratti-Goldman about her dominating rise to the
podium.

Weather and a host of other problems forced the race to be
postponed until a later date but the gauntlet has been thrown and it’s sure to
make for a great race, or at least a great office debate until next year.
