KHTS’ “Local Artist Spotlight” featured indie-folk songwriter Nathaniel Dobies. His music is characterized by its delicate instrumentals, soft harmonies adding gravity to his emotionally charged lyrics strongly reflective of folk virtuosos Danny Malone and indie duo the Milk Carton Kids. He jokingly dubbed himself the “Taylor Swift of Santa Clarita,” due to his tendency to write a song about every relationship he has ever been in.

KHTS’ “Local Artist Spotlights” have included the precociously talented Magni5,a Santa Clarita band well-versed in covering rock ‘n’ roll classics, ranging from rock virtuosos Led Zeppelin to hard rock legends, such as AC/DC. However, each member is about half the age of each member of these rock legends when these classic rock bands released their first singles.

Legendary British rock band The Babys were additionally featured as a KHTS’ “Local Artist Spotlight.” Known for crafting Billboard chart topping hits like “Every Time I Think Of You” and “Isn’t It Time” in the late 1970s, these classic rock pioneers recently reformed after their breakup in 1981. They played a benefit concert for the SCV Food Pantry.

They Shake The Mountains When They Dance were highlighted in KHTS’ “Local Artist Spotlight.” Hailing from the Santa Clarita Valley, The Shake The Mountains When They Dance  craft music in the experimental jazz, rock genre with a contemporary funk twist.

Next to be featured on KHTS’s Local Artist Spotlight is Jimmy Marino, a Canyon Country native known for crafting emotionally charged indie-rock songs.
