Through Monday and Tuesday this week, KHTS will be joining radio stations from around California under a tent, to interview a long and distinguished list of state legislators and administration officials.

The event, called Capitol Clear Speak, is the crescendo of weeks of planning and arranging interviews. One by one, the Senators, Assemblymen and Governor’s staff migrate to the stations to talk about the issues at the forefront of California news.

This week in particular is a busy one for the legislators, because all legislative bills must be passed out of their respective branches by the end of the week.

Also, with the state budget up for approval before the break, many assembly members and senators alike have braced for what could be a long discussion of the floor.

KHTS will focus whenever possible, on areas that affect the Santa Clarita Valley. Issues like education and transportation will be directly addressed to the very people who design the policy and funding for these areas.
