The annual art competition is sponsored by the Congressional Institute, FASTFRAME and KHTS AM-1220.
To encourage student participation in art, each congressional district across the United States holds a districtwide art competition.
The winning pieces of art from each district will be hanged in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol building in May.
Local congressman Howard Buck McKeon, R-Santa Clarita, said he enjoys looking at the artwork as he walks through the halls of the Capitol, where the winning pieces of art are displayed.
“I’ve been amazed by the remarkable talent that I have seen from our local students over the years for the competition,” McKeon said.
The winning students will be invited to attend a reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
