Kings Announce 2007-08 Schedule

LA Kings Pre-Season Begins September 13th in Anaheim.

Three-game and four-game homestands in October will help the
Los Angeles Kings kick off their 2007-08 regular season schedule, the NHL
and the Kings announced today.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Kings will open their season away
from STAPLES Center as they officially begin the 2007-08 regular season
against the cross-town rival Anaheim Ducks at the O2 Arena in London as
part of the "NHL Premiere 2007" series, scheduled for Saturday, September
29 and Sunday, September 30 at 9 a.m.

The Kings will host the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, October 6, at STAPLES
Center at 7:30 p.m. in their official home opener for the 2007-08 season.
In addition, the Kings will open a three-game homestand at STAPLES Center
with games against the Boston Bruins on October 12, the Detroit Red Wings
on October 14 and the Minnesota Wild on October 16, and they'll close the
month of October with a four-game homestand at STAPLES Center featuring
games against the Nashville Predators (October 23), the Dallas Stars
(October 25), the Edmonton Oilers (October 27) and the Columbus Blue
Jackets (October 31).

The 82-game schedule has the Kings playing 40 games at STAPLES Center and
the rest on the road.  The Kings' longest homestand (six games) of the
season takes place January 1 – 12 and the longest road trip of the season
(eight games) takes place from January 29 – February 12.

The League utilizes a staggered schedule.  The Kings play eight times
against divisional opponents and four games against teams in the Central
and Northwest Divisions of the Western Conference.  The Kings this season
host the five clubs from the Eastern Conference's Northeast Division (the
Boston Bruins, the Buffalo Sabres, the Montreal Canadiens, the Ottawa
Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs) while traveling to the Eastern
Conference's Atlantic Division (the New Jersey Devils, the New York
Islanders, the New York Rangers, the Philadelphia Flyers and the
Pittsburgh Penguins).

As part of the STAPLES Center visits by the Northeast Division clubs,
Kings fans will have a chance to see three of the League's Original Six
teams for the first time since the 2003-04 season.  The Bruins last met
the Kings at STAPLES Center on October 18, 2003; the Maple Leafs last met
the Kings at STAPLES Center on November 13, 2003; and the Canadiens last
met the Kings at STAPLES Center on March 6, 2004.

The Kings host the cross-town Ducks on November 15, January 24 and April 5
(in the season finale), while Los Angeles' Northern California foes, the
San Jose Sharks, make visits to STAPLES Center on November 3, December 26,
March 18 and April 3.
