The Los Angeles Kings’ first round NHL Stanley Cup Playoff series versus the San Jose Sharks is as follows, the Kings and the National Hockey League announced tonight.
The Kings are the seventh seed in the Western Conference. The Kings will announce the club’s TV and Radio broadcast schedules once confirmed.

The Kings tied a club record with 46 wins this season and finished the 2010-11 regular season with a 46-30-6 record (98 points). The Kings’ 25 home wins was one shy of the club record and the Kings ended the season going 22-8-5 in their final 35 games.
At home, the Kings averaged 18,083 fans per game this season, the highest average attendance in club History. The 35 sellouts this season (a STAPLES Center record) is the most since 1991-92 and the Kings have sold out 18 straight home games, the club’s longest sellout streak since a 23-game streak in 1993-94.
The Kings are slated to practice tomorrow, Monday, and on Tuesday at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo beginning at 10 a.m.

The Kings have never faced the Sharks (seeded No. 2) in the postseason. This year’s quarter-finals match-up also marks the Kings’ first playoff series against another California club since Los Angeles faced Oakland in 1969 (the Kings won the seven game series, 4-3).
