Knock-Off Sellers Knocked Out Of Business At Swap Meet

More than $300,000 worth of unauthorized copies of Ed Hardy items, True Religion Brand Jeans, shirts from DKNY, Famous Stars and Straps, Volcom and Element; Abercrombie and Fitch clothing, Chanel bracelets, Gucci dog collars and Louis Vuitton bags, were seized in a sting operation conducted Sunday at the Saugus Swap Meet.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department's Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Team – assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, assisted by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department's countywide COPS team, conducted the counterfeit merchandise detection operation, with assistance from Investigative Consultants.

The operation was the culmination of months of planning and intelligence gathering after law enforcement officials received tips from private investigators that counterfeit goods were being sold at the Saugus Swap Meet.

Deputies arrested seven adults and one juvenile, who were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on suspicion of felony sales of counterfeit merchandise.

Two of those arrested were residents of Santa Clarita.  Patricia Sanchez, 37, of Canyon Country and Gisela Rosales, 21, of Saugus are each being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.  They are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
