“We opened on the 17th of July,” Chung said. “We’re very excited because Baskin-Robbins was here three years ago and we’re happy to bring it back.”

The Grand Opening began at 12 p.m. and ended at 4 p.m. at 26582 Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus.

The community welcomed us and was very gracious,” she said “I had people coming up to me and thanking me for bringing Baskin-Robbins back.“

The parking lot was full of Santa Clarita residents with ice cream in their hands, paint on their faces, and balloons in their free hand.  The line for ice cream went out the door.

“I wanted to give back and put on this celebration for the community who opened their arms for us.” Chung said.

DJ Eric Ill, The Official Arty Loon Show, and Sara Campell of Couture Paintings were at the event DJing, making balloon animals, and face painting.

“We have 31 cent ice cream all day. We rolled out the pink carpet, the pink tent, Valencia High cheer is here, ice cream costumes and DJ-A lot going on from 12-4.” she said. “We got the prize wheel where you can win free ice cream cones, $5 off cake and buy one get one free coupons.”

This Baskin-Robbins is offering more than 35 flavors.

“We’re expecting 1,000 people and we’ve only had 150 in the first hour,” said Raffi Gasparyan, operations manager for Baskin-Robbins. “Kris is making donations to the Valencia High cheer and the Farm Baseball Organization.”

Kelsey Lien, last years winner of “Create Baskin’s Next Favorite Flavor Contest,” made an appearance.  Her creation is called “Nutty Cream Cheese Brownie” and is available at this Baskin-Robbins location.

“A lot of people missed Baskin-Robbins and we’re happy to open one in this community.” Chung said.
