Former Los Angeles Kings forward Bernie Nicholls – the only player in Kings history to score 70 goals in one season – will return to Los Angeles for an exclusive autograph session, as well as participatein one of the club’s “Speakers Series,” as part of LA Kings Hockey Fest ’10, which takes place on Saturday, September 11, at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.
Nicholls will be featured on a panel with additional past or current Kings players in the “The Life of a King” series that will be hosted by Jim Fox. Nicholls – who created his famous Pumper-Nicholl goal celebration after each tally – played for the Kings from 1981-90 and in his career he scored 475 goals, including the career-high 70 goals in 1988-89.

A second panel, entitled “Kids Press Conference,” will also return to this year’s Hockey Fest event. It will feature several current Kings players and children of all ages can ask their questions directly to the participating players.
Three total Speaker Series will highlight LA Kings Hockey Fest ’10 and the Kings will continue to announce additional LA Kings Hockey Fest ’10 details throughout the summer as they become finalized.
The one-day Hockey Fest event, which takes places from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., will culminate with a special “Pep Rally” featuring the Kings players and all Hockey Fest participants at 5 p.m. on the (covered) NHL ice rink. Hockey Fest will be hosted by Kings/FS West television broadcasters/reporters Bob Miller, Fox and Heidi Androl.
