The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), from August 3-5, will close the following lanes, ramps and connectors of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:

· One lane of northbound I-5 between State Route 118 and San Fernando Mission Boulevard
· The northbound I-5 connector to eastbound and westbound State Route 118
· The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Brand Boulevard
· The northbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
· The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound and westbound State Route 118

· 8 p.m. to 11:59 a.m. – The Brand Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-5
· 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 at Balboa Boulevard
· 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from I-405 to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
Closures weather permitting and subject to change. Signs and detours will be posted to assist motorists. Caltrans reminds motorists that traffic fines are doubled in freeway work zones, and to please SLOW FOR THE CONE ZONE.
