The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), from August 3-5, will close the following lanes, ramps and connectors of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:

DAILY AUGUST 3, 4 AND 5 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6 A.M. AND 3 P.M.:

·     One lane of northbound I-5 between State Route 118 and San Fernando Mission Boulevard

·     The northbound I-5 connector to eastbound and westbound State Route 118

·     The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Brand Boulevard

·     The northbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard

·     The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound and westbound State Route 118

OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3 TO THURSDAY, AUGUST 4, AND

·     6 p.m. to 7 a.m. – The southbound I-5 off-ramp to Paxton Street

·     7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound State Route 118

·     10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – One lane of southbound I-5 from I-405 to I-5/I-405 truck bypass lane

·     10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 at State Route 14

·     8 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 at Balboa Boulevard

·     11 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from Balboa Blvd. to Route 14

·     10 p.m. to 9 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from State Route 118 to Brand Boulevard

·     11 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from Brand Boulevard to I-405

·     7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The Paxton Street on-ramp to northbound I-5

·     7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Brand Boulevard

·     7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The northbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard

·     7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The Laurel Canyon on-ramp to northbound I-5

·     6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – The northbound I-5 truck bypass lane

·     6 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The westbound State Route 118 connector to northbound I-5

·     10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from I-405 to San Fernando Mission Boulevard

·     6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from San Fernando Mission Boulevard to Brand Boulevard

·     7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The southbound truck bypass lane at I-405/I-5

·     7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The southbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard

·     7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The eastbound and westbound San Fernando Mission Boulevard on-ramps to southbound I-5

·     6 p.m. to 11 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 at Route 14

·     6 p.m. to 11:59 a.m. – The southbound I-5 off-ramp to Paxton Street

·     7  p.m. to 11:59 a.m. – The southbound I-5 truck bypass lane to southbound I-405

·     8 p.m. to 11:59 a.m. – The southbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard

·     8 p.m. to 11:59 a.m. – The eastbound and westbound on-ramps to southbound I-5

·     8 p.m. to 11:59 a.m. – The Brand Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-5

·     8 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 at Balboa Boulevard

·     11 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from I-405 to San Fernando Mission Boulevard

      Closures weather permitting and subject to change.  Signs and detours will be posted to assist motorists.  Caltrans reminds motorists that traffic fines are doubled in freeway work zones, and to please SLOW FOR THE CONE ZONE.
