Lane Closures Continue on the I-5 Freeway

 Santa Clarita – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the
following lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) and State Route 126 as part of a $24 mllion project to improve the I-5/126 Interchange, from Mon., June 13 thru Fri., June 17:


INTERSTATE 5:

·     Daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

-     One lane of southbound I-5 from Hasley Canyon Road to Rye Canyon Road
-     One lane of northbound I-5 from Rye Canyon Road to Hasley Canyon Road

STATE ROUTE 126:

·     Daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

   –  One lane of eastbound State Route 126 from Castaic Junction to I-5
-     One lane of westbound State Route 126 from I-5 to Castaic Junction
-     The eastbound State Route 126 connector to southbound I-5
-     The eastbound State Route 126 connector to northbound I-5

I-5 Carpool Lane Closures:


The California Department of ransportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes, ramps and connectors of the I-5 Freeway as part of a $41.6-million roject to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes on north and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14.  The closure schedule is as follows:

MONDAY, JUNE 13, THROUGH THURSDAY, JUNE 16
·     8 p.m. until 8 a.m. – up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from SR-118 to I-210.


    7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – northbound I-5 on-ramp at Paxton Street
·     7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – northbound I-5 off-ramp at Brand Boulevard
·     7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – northbound I-5 off-ramp at San Fernando Mission
Boulevard
·     7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – northbound I-5 on-ramp at Laurel Canyon
Boulevard
·     6 p.m. until 5 a.m. – northbound I-5 truck bypass lane
·     7 p.m. until 5 a.m. – up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from Roxford
Street to
      SR-118 junction
·     7 p.m. until 6 p.m. – southbound I-5 connector to I-405 truck bypass
·     7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – southbound I-5 off-ramp at San Fernando Mission
Boulevard
·     7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – southbound I-5 on-ramps at east- and westbound
San Fernando
Mission Boulevard
·     7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – southbound I-5 on-ramp at Brand Boulevard
·     7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – southbound I-5 on-ramp at Brand Boulevard
·     6 p.m. until 7 a.m. – southbound I-5 off-ramp at Paxton Street
·     7 p.m. until 6 a.m. – southbound I-5 connector to eastbound State
Route 118

  FRIDAY, JUNE 17 TO SATURDAY, JUNE 18:

·     8 p.m. until 11 a.m. – up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from SR-118
to I-210
·     7 p.m. until noon – northbound I-5 on-ramp at Paxton Street
·     8 p.m. until noon – northbound I-5 off-ramp at Brand Boulevard
·     8 p.m. until noon  – northbound I-5 off-ramp at San Fernando Mission
Boulevard
·     8 p.m. until noon  – northbound I-5 on-ramp at Laurel Canyon
Boulevard
·     7 p.m. until 9 a.m. – northbound I-5 truck bypass lane
·     8 p.m. until 8 a.m. – up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from Roxford
Street to SR-118
      junction
·     7 p.m. until noon  – southbound I-5 connector to I-405 truck bypass
·     8 p.m. until noon  – southbound I-5 off-ramp at San Fernando Mission
Boulevard
·     7 p.m. until noon  – southbound I-5 on-ramps at eastbound and
westbound San Fernando Mission Boulevard
·     8 p.m. until noon  – southbound I-5 on-ramp at Brand Boulevard
·     6 p.m. until noon  – southbound I-5 off-ramp at Paxton Street
·     7 p.m. until noon  – southbound I-5 connector to eastbound State
Route 118

      Closures are weather permitting and subject to change.  Signs and detours will be posted to assist motorists.  Caltrans reminds motorists that traffic fines are doubled in freeway work zones, and to please SLOW FOR THE CONE ZONE.
