The California Department of Transportation in cooperation with Security Paving Company are nearing completion of a pavement rehabilitation project on northbound Interstate 5 in Kern County near the Los Angeles County line to the Grapevine Creek Bridge.
Lane closures are necessary to safely reconstruct and replace deteriorated concrete panels on the northbound I-5 outside lane.
Workers will also grind and resurface the three adjacent lanes with rubberized asphalt on the ten-mile segment of I-5.
Lane Closures for December 21 – December 24 will be:
December 21st – December 24th from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. a mile-long lane closure of the fast lane on northbound Interstate 5 from the Fraizer Mountain Roadside Rest Area to a half-mile north of the Lebec off-ramp to install a flashing beacon system.
The northbound Lebec Road off-ramp will close for up to three hours between 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to install a flashing beacon at the Lebec overcrossing.
The $15.5 million pavement rehabilitation project is anticipated to be complete in late December 2009.
