Community Invited To ‘Santa Clarita Grieves’ Event To Cope With Las Vegas Shooting

As Santa Clarita joins the nation in grieving the victims of the Las Vegas shooting, the community is invited to a FREE discussion Thursday evening to help those directly or indirectly affected by the massacre find healing.

Set to take place Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Child & Family Center, residents can attend the discussion or watch via Facebook Live video on the KHTS Facebook page.

“Santa Clarita Grieves” is being hosted by the Child & Family Center, Santa Clarita Coalition and Life Coach Alex Urbina, and will be led by the following professionals: Jeni Masi, psychologist; Lara Murphy, LMFT; Markie Bear, ASW; and Alex Urbina, life coach.

Residents who may be experiencing shock, anger, sadness and even anxiety following the Las Vegas shooting can share their personal experience, offer support to others or simply listen quietly.

The discussion will help guide participants on how to make sense of what happened and begin moving forward with their lives in a powerful way.
