The students will be fundraising by selling orange and black bracelets for $2 each at the Valencia campus from 1-3 p.m., and at the Westfield Valencia Town Center’s KHTS Kiosk from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
The group of students are organizing the fundraiser for a communications course project, where they were asked to find an organization they could all agree to raise money for.
“My group and I decided to raise money for the victims of Route 91, specifically here in Santa Clarita since many people in the community were impacted by the events of that night,” fundraiser organizer Ashley Hann said.
Organizers will be selling a total of 300 bracelets; however donations are also encouraged, student organizers said.

The fundraiser will be working in collaboration with the nonprofit Santa Clarita Coalition, which is currently accepting direct donations on behalf of the Santa Clarita victims who were affected by the Las Vegas shooting. 100 percent of all donations go directly to the victims, coalition officials said.
Those people interested in buying a bracelet who are unable to visit the fundraising event can contact the College of the Canyons group by emailing commsforscv@gmail.com.
