“Things did not go as we had hoped today but at least things did not get worse,” stated a social media post. “We were optimistic that she would get off the ventilator but she just wasn’t ready.”

Doctors determined earlier this week that it would be best not to remove the bullets from LaPorte’s gunshot wounds, meaning she will not need surgery, but had planned on taking out her breathing tube by this point.

“Hopefully tomorrow (Friday) will be the day, but I told the doctor that we are not in a hurry if she isn’t ready,” the post continued. “It is painful to see loved ones hooked up to a bunch of equipment, but we have to remember that it’s not appearance that matters. What matters is that she is getting the very best care possible.”

In addition to LaPorte’s gunshot wounds, she also sustained fluid in her lungs and a broken shoulder.

As of Friday morning, there was no new information on when LaPorte may return to Santa Clarita.

  1. We love Susie dearly. Hard to understand this extreme circumstance. Thank you for your timely updates. We want her home.

  2. I heard Santa Clarita’s top healer wants to help Susie for free when Susie comes back to Santa Clarita, but the medical doctors won’t allow it. Didn’t your report say that Susie would get the best care? Drugs surgery and more drugs doesn’t seem like the best care. The medical doctors should let this healer work on her, they might learn something.
