LaPorte was struck by gunfire in the neck and upper torso at the Route 91 concert on the Las Vegas strip Sunday night.

As of Tuesday morning, LaPorte is stable and so far, her condition remains the same, according to a close friend.

“Susie is like a second mom to me, and she’s making really good progress,” said Brad Resnick, a family friend. “She has strength in her hands, and she can nod her head.”

No bullets have been removed yet, as doctors are waiting for her to wake up and be more alert before proceeding with any further actions.

“This day is the day to start watching her,” said Bobbi Burrows, a family friend. “Mitch (LaPorte’s husband) is so grateful for the community and knowing that her community is behind her.”

Family from all over the country have flown in to see LaPorte and be with her during this time.

LaPorte is still using a breathing tube and remains in the Intensive Care Unit at a Las Vegas hospital.

Hello To Susie and the LaPorte Family & Friends, This is Lisa I was Friends with Susie way back in High School at Hart High, Susie her cousin, Kathy and I were a small clan that hung out together even before Susie met Mitch I knew they were destined to be together forever 🙂 Sadly it took seeing Susie’s beautiful face in a Signal article on Facebook regarding the Vegas shooting, I thought it was heartbreaking enough and then saw she was involved which made it all too real. I have been thinking and praying for all since Sunday and will say some special prayers of healing for Susie and the family. God Bless you ALL!!
