Both Canyon High School grads from the class of 2008, Anderson and White were wounded protecting their girlfriends, among others, from the spray of bullets.

Shrapnel still remains in Anderson’s skull, which he was treated for in Las Vegas and released for further medical treatment back home.

Anderson is currently a telecommunications technician and in the reserve Forestry.

“He has many friends and would do anything to help when asked,” the friend said. “He said his first reaction (during the Las Vegas shooting) was to protect.”

“I’ve been involved in police departments in a lot of big cities, and a lot of dangerous cities, but this was by far the most terrifying thing I’ve ever been through,” said White. “I hope I never have to go through something like this ever again.”

“He is known for his unique sense of humor and his dedication to protect,” the friend said. “He’s a true friend to many. A loving son, brother and respected coworker.”

In a Facebook post the night of the shooting, Anderson wrote, “There are no words to (describe) what happened tonight. Please pray for the horrible things that happened and the lives lost tonight.”
